The first organosilver(I) compounds of pylene(pyr) and perylene(per) presented here, [Ag2(pyr)(ClO4)2] and orange prisms of [Ag2(per)(ClO4)2] exhibit an unusual tetra-(eta)2-coordination fashion bridging four metal centers leading to W-type sandwich polymeric chains and sheets, Figure 1. Both compounds irradiated with light or iodination show typical radical cation ESR signals.
