Welcome Message

We are delighted to welcome you to the 80th Okazaki Conference on Chirality-induced spin selectivity and its related phenomena. It will be held on May 15th-18th, 2019 in Okazaki, Japan. As one of the inter-university research institutes in Japan, Institute for Molecular Science (IMS) provides platforms to exchange ideas and to meet new and old friends. As such, the Okazaki Conference is held annually by IMS on a variety  of themes at Okazaki Conference Center (OCC), which is about 5 minutes on foot from IMS.

This time, the keyword is chirality-induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect. Multidisciplinary topics will be running through the conference, including spintronics, electrochemisty, optical separation, and quantum mechanical origins of CISS effect. We will also cover other electromagnetic effects associated with molecular chirality.

We look forward to seeing you in Okazaki.

Chairs: Hiroshi Yamamoto (Institute for Molecular Science)
  Ron Naaman (Weizmann Institute)
Sponsors: Institute for Molecular Science (IMS), Okazaki, Japan
Toyota Physical and Chemical Research Institute
