Invitation program


1) Graduate students or young researchers who belong to our MOU partners in Asia described below.

  • Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand
  • Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University, Thailand
  • Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), Thailand
  • National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), Thailand
  • Faculty of Science, University of Malaya, Malaysia
  • National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan
  • Xiamen University, China
  • Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India

Please note that we do not consider the people who have already joined previous JENESYS or EXODASS programs, while the people who attended the Winter School of Sokendai/Asian CORE Program can apply.

2) Degree
Graduate students who are currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral course. Young researchers who have been awarded a doctorate degree within six years from the proposed starting date of their research in IMS.

3) Notes
Successful candidates are required to agree to follow all the regulations for preventing the COVID-19 infection spread which are being enforced by sending university/country as well as by IMS and Japanese government, including the PCR test and quarantine processes before/after travels. Departure dates will be fixed in a flexible manner, depending on the situation such as visa issuing and emergency declaration.


  1. Round trip airfare (An airport of departure - Nagoya International Airport [NGO]), including living const during quarantine upon incoming arrival.
  2. Accommodation and Utility cost during the internship.
  3. Daily expenses: 2,000 JPY/day

*A health insurance and an accident insurance are not included in the supports. We would like to ask to apply for the travel accident insurance by oneself before visit to IMS.

Invitation Period

60-180 days (Subject to change depending on the situation) for graduate students

30-90 days (Subject to change depending on the situation) for young researchers
