Distinguished Professor Makoto Fujita has been awarded the 2018 Wolf Prize in Chemistry

Distinguished Professor Makoto Fujita has been awarded the 2018 Wolf Prize in Chemistry for conceiving metal-directed assembly principles leading to large highly porous complexes. The prizes were presented to nine winners by President Rivlin at the special ceremony in Israel on May 31st, 2018. The prize in chemistry was shared by two laureates: Prof. Omar Yaghi, University of California, Berkeley and Distinguished Prof. Makoto Fujita.

The Wolf prizes have been awarded annually in chemistry, agriculture, mathematics, medicine, physics and arts by the Wolf Foundation since 1978. Many Nobel prize laureates were awarded the Wolf prize before their winning of the Nobel prize.
