Senior Researcher Taketoshi Minato Conferred the Title of Fellow of the Japan Society of Vacuum and Surface Science

Senior Researcher Taketoshi Minato has been conferred the title of Fellow of the Japan Society of Vacuum and Surface Science (JVSS).

The JVSS Fellow title is awarded to members who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of surface science and vacuum science, as well as their industrial applications, through distinguished and sustained academic activities. Researchers selected as Fellows are expected to demonstrate leadership as representative members of the Society and to actively contribute to its academic activities and management.

Dr. Minato was highly recognized for his achievements in "in situ analysis and applications of solid-liquid interfaces where energy conversion takes place." In particular, by employing surface and interface science techniques, including scanning probe microscopy, he has made significant contributions to elucidating material properties and understanding reaction mechanisms through in situ observation and analysis of solid-liquid interfaces during energy conversion reactions.

Building on these insights, Dr. Minato has also been developing new conceptual designs for energy conversion reactions. His pioneering research is expected to further advance surface and interface science and open new opportunities for applications in energy-related fields. These achievements, together with the strong potential for future developments, led to the conferment of the JVSS Fellow title.
