IMS recruits top-level scientists from the scientists' community and circulates them by external promotion in order to serve as a research hub for universities.
IMS's unique personnel system is designed for the above purpose, allowing the recruited young researchers to perform their study with providing laboratory space and start-up budget. We invite applicants from outside, prohibiting the application from the permanent professors of IMS in principle. This system aims at the circulation of human resources throughout the community and this IMS philosophy has been kept since its foundation.
The average period of stay for permanent professors is about ten years. IMS always assumes that professors understand the importance of this system in accordance with our mission mentioned above.
