概 要

In organic semiconductor devices, such as organic light emitting diodes, organic thin film transistors, and organic photovoltaic cells, the interface properties and charge transfer are very important and often fundamentally different from those in inorganic semiconductor ones.
More recently, there are observations that organic materials may also be useful for spintronics. We have investigated the charge and spin transfer in organic semiconductors using photoemission spectroscopy, inverse photoemission spectroscopy, femtosecond time-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, and spin-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. These investigations allow us to discuss the mechanisms that can be used to describe the charge transfer processes in organic semiconductors, as well as the spin injection efficiency from ferromagnet into organic materials.
