概 要

In the last years there has been significant interest in cascaded self-frequency conversion lasing effects in doped (by Ln and TM ions) and un-doped insulating inorganic and organic crystals. Among these laser and nonlinear-laser phenomena are different two- and many-stage cascaded processes: direct- and cross-cascaded lasing transitions between Stark levels of few 2S+1LJ-manifolds in one or several Ln3+ lasants, self-frequency doubling, self-SRS generation, etc. These effects have the possibility of creating a new generation of solid-state laser sources, which can operate at specific and otherwise hard to reach wavelengths over a wide spectral range. In this lecture I want to show also recent results on many-stage X(3) <-> X(2) cascaded generation in many un-doped and Ln3+-doped non-centrosymmetric crystals with different structure (e.g.:BBO, Y(COO)3.2H2O, Li2SO4.H2O, NaClO3, AANP, β-LaBGeO5:Nd3+, etc). These X(3) and X(2) nonlinear phenomena can also help in the developments of new operating laser schemes and type of lasers with the aim to obtain unusual generation regimes.
The investigation was supported by the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.
