The electron - molecular vibration (e-mv) coupling effect in organic conductors and its sensitivity to charge localization is discussed. On one hand, this talk is a kind of subiective survey of the e-mv effect and its manifestation in IR spectra of organic conductors; on the other hand, some recent experimental data are presented.
At the beginning fundamental problems related to e-mv coupling are characterized and illustrated by IR spectra of selected quasi-one-dimensional TCNQ salts.
Subsequently, the quasi-two-dimensional systems formed by BEDT-TTF molecule are discussed, including the presentation of recent spectroscopic studies of charge ordering in the BEDT-TTF salts with Fe(CN)6 and Co(CN)6 trianions.
