演 題 「Recyclable Metal Nanoparticle Catalysts for Organic Reactions」

概 要

Nanoparticles have been immobilized on inorganic solid supports or embedded in organic polymers, dendrimers, multi-layer polyelectrolyte films, and ionic liquids for separation and reuse. However, the immobilization often suffers from problems such as low reactivity, degradation, metal leaching, and difficult synthetic procedures. I will introduce a simple one-pot method of making robust and recyclable catalysts through generation of metal nanoparticles in liquid inorganic alkoxides and subsequent gelation by treatment with water. The resulting gels showed the high catalytic activities in various organic reactions including hydrogenation of alkenes, arenes and nitriles, alcohol dehydrogenation reactions, and carbon-carbon-cross couling reactions.
