演　題	「Ultrafast Laser Control of Matter」

概　要	With the advent of ultrashort femtosecond laser pulses the temporal aspect of the interplay of light and molecular dynamics came to the fore and became experimentally accessible. The beauty of femtochemistry lies in our ability to observe and to control ultrafast processes as they occur. Shaped femtosecond optical laser pulses are the suitable tools to exert microscopic control on photoinduced processes. After an introduction, I will highlight two of our recent experiments: strong field control of coherent electronic excitation on prototypes (atoms and dimers) and control of incoherent ionization processes in dielectrics leading to nano-scale structures.
