概 要

Precision synthesis of 2D polymers is of increasing importance. While 2D polymers are generally accessible by crosslinking polymerization in 2D confinement, the synthesis of their periodic congeners remains underdeveloped. The presence of a long-range translational order is a seemingly small addition to the 2D network but poses critical problems for its realization by organic synthesis. Rational design of monomers is a key prerequisite for creating the order but insufficient by itself. In order to address the issue, the following two strategies have been devised. In the first, a long-range order is created by reversible bond formation under thermodynamic control. In the second, monomers are preorganized into a long-range ordered array prior to its covalent fixation. The presentation will provide an overview of the synthesis with some concrete examples.
