概 要 | Progress in micro- and nano-structured materials and device concepts for χ (2) nonlinear optical interactions have enabled progress in applications currently more widely implemented with χ (3) interactions in microresonators and dispersion engineered waveguides, ranging from spectral and temporal manipulation of single photons to the generation of octave spanning continua. We discuss nonlinear dynamics in degenerate parametric oscillators and cascaded nonlinear interactions for generation of mid-IR frequency combs, guided-wave devices for quantum frequency conversion at the single-photon level, and as time allows touch on coherent Ising machines based on coupled OPO networks. We conclude with future directions including opportunities presented by dispersion engineered ferroelectric nanowires.
